After running gnome-volume-control, the systems settings application succeeds, the multimedia tab shows a bunch of new sound devices, and the notifications tab will play notification sound files. FreeRDP cant open a Pulseaudio microphone stream in a remote desktop session Im using. Running the Gnome mixer applet always works: Gnome notifications can always be played.
UNABLE TO CONNECT TO PULSEAUDIO INSTALL
One way to do this is to run the command: sudo apt-get -purge -reinstall install pulseaudio. Description of problem: I tried to get pulseaudio-dlna to run (see bug 14685) but it appears that the PulseAudio dbus module doesnt load correctly (my hypothesis).It claims that ERROR:root:PulseAudio seems not to be running or pulseaudio dbus module is not loaded. The service is even running out-of-the-box in Ubuntu 21.10. First I needed to completely purge and reinstall Pulseaudio. Use Pipewire to replace PulseAudio in Ubuntu 21.10 & Ubuntu 21.04: Ubuntu now has better Pipewire support in recent releases.

Sometimes the system settings application crashes and the bug reporting window shows a workspace abort on a signal. The solution to this problem was discovered in the course of solving my other problem, with Pulseaudio and Flash. I was able to get audio working by creating an executable script and running spotify from that. The system settings application, Notifications tab, KDE System Notifications shows various sound files enabled for notifications, but there is no sound when they are played. Just finished a -current install and grabbed spotify with flatpak. Hardware is an Intel i7 motherboard + PNY Nvidia Quadro 2000DĪfter upgrade, system notifications no longer work, though rythmbox plays music, youtube has sound.Īt startup, there is no longer a login notification sound on shutdown there is no logout sound.
